Bengals President Mike Brown will not be with the team for the first time in 824 games due to the COVID-19 pandemicAfter Thursday night’s devastating loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals find themselves in a difficult position.

Even though Cincinnati’s season is in jeopardy with a 4-6 record going into the second half of the campaign, they still have a chance to make a comeback. Nevertheless, as their postseason prospects diminish, a focus on the forthcoming offseason may gain traction.

Tee Higgins, the Bengals’ premier wide receiver, will be a free agency following the 2024 season after playing under the $21.8 million franchise tag. His future with the team will be a major topic of discussion during the offseason.

Higgins may be out the door if the Bengals sign Ja’Marr Chase to a record-breaking deal.

Even though the summer is still a ways off, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox says the Pittsburgh Steelers are among the teams who will be in the running to sign Higgins when he becomes free.

“The opposing Steelers should be chasing after Higgins if he decides to go free agent. With his collection of skills, he would be an ideal foil for George Pickens, who is just as gifted,” Knox said.

Higgins, who is incredibly gifted, has fought with injuries on multiple occasions. He hurt his hamstring in practice, which kept him out for the first two games of the season. He hurt his quad in the same place, and he has missed the past three games as a result.

The 25-year-old wide receiver is sure to have a busy offseason, and rumors about a possible trade with the Steelers involving the former second-round choice are sure to persist.
