Duvernay, a former Texas Longhorn, joined the Jaguars for the 2024 season after a notable tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, where he earned two Pro Bowl selections and a First-Team All-Pro honor as a return specialist. During his time at the University of Texas, Duvernay showcased exceptional talent, leading the Big 12 in receptions (106) and receiving yards (1,386) in 2019, and concluding his college career with 176 catches for 2,468 yards and 16 touchdowns.

In addition to Duvernay’s release, the Jaguars have made several other significant roster changes:

  • Christian Kirk: The team traded wide receiver Christian Kirk to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Kirk, who signed with Jacksonville in 2022, had a standout season that year with 1,108 receiving yards but faced injuries in subsequent seasons. The Texans aim to bolster their receiving corps with Kirk’s addition.

  • Zay Jones: Veteran receiver Zay Jones was also released, a decision influenced by his recent injuries and off-field issues. This move clears a path for the potential signing of five-time Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry, as the Jaguars seek to enhance their receiving options for quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
