Announcing their retirement from professional football.

To my teammates, coaches, staff, fans, and the entire NFL community,

It is with a heavy heart and immense gratitude that I announce my retirement from the National Football League. After careful thought, reflection, and conversations with my family, I have made the decision to walk away from the game I’ve loved for so many years. This decision was not easy, but it is one I believe is the right choice at this point in my life.

When I first started playing football, I had no idea how far this journey would take me. It began as a simple game, something I did for fun, but over the years, it evolved into my passion, my purpose, and my career. The NFL has provided me with opportunities I never dreamed possible — moments of triumph, incredible teammates, lifelong friendships, and the chance to compete on the grandest stage in sports. For all of that, I am forever thankful.

The Beginning

I started my journey in this sport at a young age. Football was always in my blood, and I worked tirelessly to improve myself, whether it was on the field or in the weight room. I never took any opportunity for granted, always giving my best effort, because I knew how rare and fleeting chances like this could be. I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way — my family, friends, coaches, and everyone who believed in me.

From the moment I stepped onto the field for my first NFL game, I knew my life was about to change. The feeling of running out of that tunnel, hearing the roar of the crowd, and knowing that I was now part of a brotherhood that included some of the greatest athletes in the world is something I will never forget. It was a dream come true. But little did I know, this dream would come with its own set of challenges.

The Challenges of the Game

While football has given me some of the most extraordinary moments of my life, it has also taken its toll on my body and mind. As with any professional athlete, the physical demands of the game are immense, and over the years, I have faced numerous injuries and setbacks. There were times when I doubted whether I could continue to play at the level I once did. But I pushed through because I loved the game and I loved competing.

However, as time has passed, I’ve come to realize that my body is no longer capable of performing at the elite level that is required in the NFL. Injuries, wear and tear, and the simple passage of time have led me to this difficult decision. It is not easy to step away from something that has been such a massive part of your life for so long, but I know that my time has come.

Gratitude for the People Who Made This Possible

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my family. To my parents, who instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and humility — thank you for your unwavering support. Your belief in me was never in question, and without your sacrifices, I would not be where I am today. To my wife, children, and extended family, thank you for always being there through the highs and lows, for your love, and for your understanding of the sacrifices that come with being a professional athlete. Your support has been my anchor.

I also want to thank my coaches and teammates. You have not only pushed me to become a better player, but you’ve also helped shape me as a person. The locker room bonds we share will last a lifetime. Whether it was during an intense practice, a crucial game, or a quiet moment after a hard-fought season, each of you has made an impact on my journey. The lessons I’ve learned from all of you will stay with me forever.

To the front-office staff, medical team, and everyone who has been part of my career behind the scenes — your professionalism and dedication have kept me on the field longer than I ever could have hoped. You are the unsung heroes of the NFL, and your work is truly appreciated.

And of course, to the fans — thank you. From day one, you welcomed me with open arms. Your support, energy, and passion have driven me to perform at my highest level. Your cheers, your loyalty, and your belief in me and my team will always be cherished. The bond we share, whether it was celebrating victories or pushing through tough losses, is something that I will carry with me forever.

The Lessons Learned

As I look back on my career, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. The NFL has taught me more than I ever could have imagined. It has taught me about resilience — how to get up after being knocked down, both physically and emotionally. It has taught me about teamwork — how to put the team above individual glory and how to rely on each other in moments of adversity. And it has taught me about leadership — how to lead by example, how to inspire those around you, and how to stay true to yourself when faced with difficult decisions.

Through it all, I’ve learned that the true value of football isn’t in the wins, the stats, or the accolades. It’s in the relationships you build, the lessons you learn, and the people you impact along the way. Football gave me the platform to be a part of something larger than myself, and I will always be grateful for that.

Moving Forward

While my playing days are over, this is not the end of my journey with the game of football. I plan to stay involved in the sport in some capacity, whether through mentoring, coaching, or community outreach. The lessons I’ve learned on the field can continue to be shared with the next generation, and I look forward to giving back to the game that has given me so much.

Moreover, I will be focusing on my family, my personal growth, and other ventures that excite me. Football was always a huge part of my life, but it does not define me. I look forward to embracing this next chapter and discovering new passions and opportunities.

A Final Thank You

To my teammates, coaches, and the fans — thank you for believing in me. Thank you for being part of my journey and for making this chapter of my life so special. The memories we created together, the battles we fought, and the victories we shared will stay with me forever.

Football has been the greatest blessing of my life, and I am grateful for every moment of it. But now, it’s time for me to close this chapter, and I do so with peace in my heart and excitement for what comes next.

Thank you all for everything.

With love and gratitude,
