Breaking News:  Chelsea may be forced to sell this summer.

As Chelsea concluded a turbulent 2024/25 Premier League campaign, reports have emerged that up to six first-team stars were considering leaving the club on the final day of the season. Despite a late surge that secured European football, frustrations behind the scenes appear to have reached boiling point for several players.

According to sources close to the dressing room, senior figures were disillusioned by the club’s ongoing instability, lack of clarity around leadership, and persistent tactical changes under manager Enzo Maresca. The lack of a consistent starting XI and a clear playing philosophy left some feeling marginalized and undervalued.

Among those reportedly considering their exit were Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Malang Sarr, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Each of them had different motivations—ranging from a desire for more playing time, concerns over the club’s project, to simply needing a fresh start.

Conor Gallagher, despite being one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers, has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham and is yet to agree to a contract extension. With one year remaining on his deal, Chelsea may be forced to sell this summer.

Trevoh Chalobah, who only recently returned from injury, is another homegrown player that could be sold to balance the books amid ongoing Financial Fair Play pressures.

Raheem Sterling, signed in 2022 as a marquee acquisition, has struggled for form and influence. Though not officially transfer-listed, it’s believed he would not resist a move if the right offer arrived.

Marc Cucurella, who ended the season strongly, has had a mixed time at Stamford Bridge and is understood to be open to a return to Spain.

Malang Sarr and Kepa Arrizabalaga, both out on loan for much of the season, were reportedly informed they are not in the club’s long-term plans.

Out of the six, Malang Sarr has already parted ways with the club. His contract, which expires this summer, will not be renewed. The French defender made just a handful of appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2020.

With a busy summer expected at Stamford Bridge, more departures could follow as the club reshapes its squad under Maresca’s leadership. Whether the other five will follow Sarr out the door remains to be seen—but discontent is clearly brewing.
