Arsenal face Competition for signature of Paris saint Germain.
Arsenal are reportedly facing stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Newcastle United in the race to sign French forward Mousse Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen. The 23-year-old winger, who previously played for PSG before joining Leverkusen in 2019, has been impressive in the Bundesliga, scoring 46 goals and providing 43 assists in 156 appearances. With his contract expiring at the end of the 2024–25 season, Diaby is expected to attract significant interest this summer. PSG, aiming to bolster their attacking options, are keen on re-signing him, while Newcastle United are also monitoring his situation. Arsenal, having previously shown interest in Diary, are preparing to make a move, but they will need to contend with PSG’s and Newcastle’s pursuit .(Sportskeeda)
In addition to Diary, Arsenal are targeting other attacking reinforcements. They are reportedly in advanced talks to sign midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for £51 million, which would be their first major acquisition of the summer. Furthermore, Arsenal are interested in Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, who has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances since joining from Coventry. However, Sporting CP have informed interested clubs that Gyökeres will not be sold for less than €80 million (£67 million), despite his €100 million release clause
Arsenal’s pursuit of these players underscores their intent to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025–26 season. However, with PSG and other top clubs also vying for these talents, Arsenal will need to act decisively to secure their targets.
