Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen carried out a brutal crackdown on Manchester United following the Eagles’ 1-0 win over the Red Devils.

Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace deservedly beat Manchester United at Old Trafford as a Joachim Andersen goal was enough for the three points

The defender spoke to Danish outlet Bold.BK about the goal and admitted he has watched his match-winning moment plenty of times.

“Yes, I’ve seen it a few times,” Anderson said. “Crystal Palace have also put it up on their site a few times, so it’s been hard to avoid.”

However, the Danish defender admitted that winning at Old Trafford is not as hard as winning at the Etihad Stadium

It’s a cool stadium with a cool atmosphere. I don’t know if it’s the best place,” Andersen admitted. “It’s just as cool to win elsewhere, because it’s three points we’re playing for, but it’s clear that United are a big team.

“However, I would say that it is more difficult against Manchester City, to be honest.”

It’s hard to disagree with the Danish defender who kept his international teammates Christian Eriksen and Hojlund quiet during the tight win at Old Trafford.

Prior to United losing to Brighton & Hove Albion, Erik ten Hag’s side hadn’t lost at home since August 2022 against the Seagulls but have now lost three home games this season.

Manchester City, meanwhile, haven’t lost a game at home since Brentford beat Pep Guardiola’s side last winter.

Old Trafford used to be a fortress but the recent defeats have meant the cloak of invincibility at home has faded.

The Red Devils can get this invincibility back if they go back to winning ways, which has seemingly started after the dramatic win over Brentford.
