Preston North End’s manager is Ryan Lowe, who was appointed back in December 2021.

In his playing days, Lowe featured for the likes of Shrewsbury Town, Bury, MK Dons, Tranmere Rovers and Crewe Alexandra.

Since switching to management, Lowe has previously made an impression at Bury, guiding them to promotion to League One.

Upon moving to Plymouth Argyle, he earned another promotion, leading the club to a third-placed finish to climb to League One.

Since joining the Lilywhites, Lowe has won 37 of his 93 games in charge, with a win percentage of 39.78%.

Preston North End’s captain, Alan Browne, has been an integral part of the club for almost ten years, having made over 300 league appearances.

The 28-year-old has been in goal-scoring form of late, netting in the Lilywhites’ last two fixtures.

Browne has also contributed with two assists this season, coming in wins over Swansea City and Birmingham City.

The midfielder boasts experience at international level, having made 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring on five occasions.

The Bluebirds travelled to Deepdale in April 2011 in fine form, having been unbeaten in the previous seven fixtures.

City continued their positive run with a 1-0 away win, as the winning goal came courtesy of Peter Whittingham.

Midfielder Stephen McPhail found Whittingham with a great ball, who picked out Craig Bellamy in the box.

With Whittingham breaking into the box, the City no.7 was unmarked and netted a memorable goal to claim all three points at Deepdale.

The Lilywhites currently sit fifth in the Championship table, having recorded 28 points from their opening 16 fixtures.

Lowe’s men return from the international break having picked up back-to-back wins in their last two fixtures, coming against Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers.

Their victory away at Ewood Park saw a dramatic finish, as Liam Lindsay found a winner in the 90th minute.
