In Sunday’s home Serie A match against Inter, Osimhen makes his comeback to Napoli’s starting lineup after over a month away. After missing the October break due to a muscle injury, he returned to the pitch last week and replaced Atalanta in a 2-1 victory. Mazzarri made his second appearance on the Partenopei bench.

Mazzarri says that although Osimhen starts the match against Inter, he will be substituted off at some point because he is still not fully fit.

Mazzarri said to DAZN, “He knows he can’t play for ninety minutes, so we have to manage him during the game.”

“I hope he will demonstrate his added value today. Regarding his contract, I would rather not discuss it. I know he is happy because everyone here loves him. He can play a great game and get in better shape in the future, in my opinion.

Osimhen had consented to sign a contract extension with the Partenopei, according to claims made earlier this week by Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli.

Two Napoli games have already been managed by Mazzarri.
