As the Raptors defeat possible suitors to end a four-game losing streak, Siakam shines.

It appears that Pascal Siakam-related rumors have been circulating for months in the basketball community.

It’s one of those unsolved stories that will never be answered, whether he stays or leaves and whether the Raptors ultimately choose to offer one of the ultra-rich contracts in the NBA.

The proverbial “elephant in the room” is, in a sense, the uncertainty surrounding Siakam.

Others in a similar circumstance are aware that this upcoming off-season could bring free agency.

Despite this club’s shortcomings on the court, Siakam is the most pressing issue for obvious and clear reasons.

One could argue Siakam tried out for one of the teams some have connected as a possible suitor for his services, given the Atlanta Hawks are in town to play the first of two tipoffs over the course of three days. It is unclear whether a deal will be finalized given the NBA’s antiquated regulations.

After the Raptors and Hawks conclude their brief two-game series on Friday, players who signed this summer will become tradeable. Notable days still to come, but as of this writing, Siakam was still affiliated with the Raptors.

And as of right now, the Raptors have defeated the Hawks 135–128 and are out of their current losing streak.

Siakam is a two-way player who can be a force on the court when he is playing at his best. He is nearly impossible to stop when he is making three-pointers. Because Siakam will take them off the dribble and attack the rim with ease, defenders are unable to penetrate his body.
