Brock Bowers Is “Not Sure” If He Will Play in the Orange Bowl
The details of which Bulldog players will be available for Georgia’s Orange Bowl game against Florida State on December 30 are starting to surface. Star tight end Brock Bowers gave a vague update on his status for the Orange Bowl on Tuesday.
Following a function at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School in Athens on Tuesday, Bowers took some time to field questions. When asked directly about his availability for Georgia’s game against Florida State in the Orange Bowl, the two-time Mackey Award winner gave an evasive response, saying, “we’ll see.” I’m not sure.
Although Bowers’ intentions were not made clear in his first response, he went on to say that he hasn’t completely left the Georgia program.
Regarding his present activities, Bowers stated, “I’m around, going to meetings and doing everything with the team.”
Nevertheless, Bowers remained evasive when asked if he intends to suit up for what is likely to be his final game as a Bulldog, despite spending a lot of time with the team in the run-up to the Orange Bowl.
Following quarterback Carson Beck’s announcement that he plans to play in the Orange Bowl and return to Georgia for the 2024 season, Bowers made these remarks. The three-time All-American is regarded as a potential top-10 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He missed three games during the 2023 season due to a high ankle sprain. Although Bowers has left the door open for him to potentially play in Georgia’s 2023 championship game, the decision is made more difficult by his ongoing recuperation from the ankle injury and his bright future in the NFL.
