Ten reflections on the Cowboys’ 38-10 thrashing of the Commanders in the regular-season finale
The Dallas Cowboys concluded their regular season with a 38-10 thrashing of the Washington Commanders, capping off a successful campaign. It was good to see the Cowboys depart on a high note, but they also needed the win to guarantee the division, which they did. Ten ideas about the Washington whooping at FedEx Field are provided below.
The Cowboys’ first three possessions went into Washington territory, so things got a little rocky at first, with only one of them ending in a touchdown. The offense appeared to be on point despite the early results, and the universe promptly corrected itself as they scored touchdowns on their next four possessions. It was a productive offense with quick passes and productive runs. With two backup guards participating, it was an excellent method to keep their quarterback upright (zero sacks). Yes, it was against shoddy Commanders’ defense, but they sure as hell looked good.
CeeDee Lamb gave an encore after his incredible 200-yard performance the previous week. He caught 13 passes for 98 yards on Sunday, including two touchdowns. With 135 catches (a Cowboys record) and 1,749 yards (a record), he finishes the regular season. Lamb appeared to have cloned himself and was simply appearing everywhere. That little lamb was bound to follow Dak wherever he looked.
