One of Georgia football’s best players is leaving the team. It is official that Brock Bowers will be joining the NFL. That news probably didn’t surprise anyone, but it’s still bittersweet. One of the best players to don the red and black is definitely Brock Bowers. Yes, I am aware of Herschel, but has he ever won consecutive championships
I must admit that I have a bias because I was a student during Brock Bowers’ playing career and was able to watch practically every game he participated in. Congrats, then, to the fortunate few who got to see Herschel and Bowers. I’ll tell my children that I attended school with the all-time greatest Georgia football player.
There have been so many players leaving for the NFL that I haven’t written about them all. However, because the others are not Brock Bowers, I haven’t written about them either. While Sedrick Van Pran is undoubtedly one of the best linemen and leaders in Georgia football history, none compare to Brock. Ladd McConkey was amazing.
Early in September, I was on the phone catching up with an old friend when we talked about Georgia football. As a devoted follower of USC, my friend was curious about what it was like to have a generational player and win national titles alongside them.
