Leeds United loan out excellent young midfielder
Leeds United have witnessed a number of departures this summer, and it has now been revealed that another player has left the club.
Who has moved out from Leeds this summer?
After trading the Premier League for the Championship, the Whites knew there would be huge changes in the summer transfer window, as their stint in the top level came to an end after three years back in the division.
Some players, such as Rodrigo and Jack Harrison, were never going to be satisfied with playing in the English second division, and several more senior players moved on.
Meanwhile, a number of new signings have come at Elland Road, with Joel Piroe from Swansea City being the most exciting, providing actual firepower to the attack, and the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara buffing up the side’s core.
Now, a new update has emerged on one kid who has moved on from Leeds, while another player leaves the club this summer.
Is Jack Jenkins still at Leeds?
Young midfielder Jack Jenkins has already been announced to have left Leeds on a temporary basis, joining Scunthorpe United on loan until at least January, subject to EFL approval:
“Scunthorpe United is delighted to welcome on loan midfielder Jack Jenkins from Championship club Leeds United.” The 21-year-old arrives at Glanford field to
This may be a great move for Jenkins, giving him consistent play at a time when he needs to keep evolving as a footballer rather than becoming stagnant and not getting the minutes he needs to realise his full potential.
Daniel Farke’s plans for this season may not include the teenager, who has only made one appearance for the Whites so far, but it is another blow to the manager’s squad depth, with the midfield already heavily reliant on young player
Leeds have lost a number of midfielders this season, so there is an element of risk in releasing Jenkins, even if he isn’t considered a crucial part of their promotion hopes. He did play 11 games on loan for Salford City previous season.
Farke does not want to be in a position where he is unexpectedly short of squad depth once the Championship season resumes following the international break.
Allowing him to go on loan could be good in the long run, allowing him to prove himself against seasoned professionals and hopefully return a more rounded player.
