We’ve reached the last stretch of the 2023–24 MLB offseason, and there are still a lot of decisions to be made, as pitchers and catchers report next month.

Marcus Stroman, a free agent pitcher, is the subject of nearly daily reports; the most recent information on the two-time All-Star pitcher was released on Wednesday. According to Jon Heyman, up to five teams are currently interested in Stroman, including the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Baltimore Orioles, three teams in the AL East.

The top starters should be signed by now and ready to go with their teams by the second week of February, as pitchers and catchers report to spring training in just over a month. There are plenty of teams enquiring about Stroman’s services because he is currently one of the best names available.

With the exception of Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery, Stroman remains the best starting pitcher still available. Though he was perhaps the best pitcher in the league prior to the All-Star break in 2023, his second half left a lot to be desired. He might be a steal for the team that signs him if he can put together a full season of strong starts.
