The men’s golf team from the University of Louisville performed admirably at the Sea Best Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida. They are in third place after two rounds of play, with Max Kennedy’s even-par 140 leading the way.
With a total score of 14 strokes over par, the Cardinals are now 12 shots behind Florida, who is leading the event at 2-over par. At 9 over par, North Florida is also well front of Louisville, which is in second place. Louisville had a strong start to the spring season on Monday, finishing the second round at 3-over-par 283.
Tuesday at 8 a.m. is when the third round of the invitational will begin at the difficult par 70 Sawgrass Course TPC.
Max Kennedy shot a 5-under-par 65 in the second round to build on his 75 in the opening round. He was now tied for fifth place thanks to his excellent performance. Kennedy finished the second round with five birdies, including three on the final four holes. After 14 holes, he was 8 shots over, but he made a comeback to sit just three shots behind the lead.
After shooting 72 points and 70 points in his first two rounds of play on Monday, Sebastian Moss is tied for eleventh position. Thanks to a couple of birdies on holes 5 and 17, he finished the second round at even par.
Cooper Claycomb shot a 75-71=146 to tie for 30th position, demonstrating another strong effort. Easton Johnson is seated with a tie.
Max Kennedy’s stellar play in the second round of the Sea Best Invitational has given the University of Louisville men’s golf team a great start. They will try to move up the scoreboard and possibly earn a better finish in the competition with one more round to go.
