He was possibly the University of Alabama’s most intimidating linebacker during the Nick Saban era. Reuben Foster’s dream of playing in the National Football League did not come true, but he is still pursuing it. Foster plays linebacker in the United Football League (UFL) for the Houston Roughnecks. Houston lost 12–18, but the former star player for the Crimson Tide put on a show Sunday against the Memphis Showboats. Foster had the most tackles and an interception for the Roughnecks.
At middle linebacker in 2016, Foster led the most entertaining defence in Alabama football history.
His tough bunch managed 118 tackles for loss, 54 sacks, 55 pass breakups, 80 quarterback hurries, 17 forced fumbles, three blocked kicks, eight fumble returns, 16 interceptions, and 11 touchdowns. He led that defence in total tackles (115). Foster led the defence in 2016 to an SEC title and a close call with the College Football Playoff National Championship. In 2016, he was recognised with the Butkus Award, Unanimous All-American, and first-team All-SEC accolades.
Foster was a three-time SEC Champion (2014–16) and a CFP National Champion (2015). He was formerly a five-star recruit in the 2013 class.
Fans of the Tide are thrilled that he is still playing football.
