super star returns to training with Leeds United – Phil Hay

Stuart Dallas finally returned to training with Leeds United on Thursday (September 21), according to Phil Hay.

The Athletic reporter shared the “important” news after the Northern Irishman returned to Thorp Arch after 18 months out due to a broken femur.

Despite this positive step, Dallas are still believed to be weeks away from returning to the first team under Daniel Farke, although that is great news.

He wrote:
“Stuart Dallas returned to training with the entire Leeds United squad today.

“He is just a few weeks away from being able to compete after fracturing his femur almost 18 months ago. But it’s a big and positive step forward.

This is great news for everyone involved in the club.

None other than Dallas, who will be eager to return to action on what he knows will be a long absence.

Farke will also be happy, especially with Dallas’ popularity with the team, he will only be a positive factor around Thorp Arch, even if he is not ready to play.

What works in his favor is that there are plenty of international breaks coming up, one in October and one in November, so with league matches also set to return, it won’t be long he will be back again.

Leeds will usually play two games a week, and Dallas’ timely return and ability to play at left-back as well as midfield will be welcomed with open arms. Rotation is key and with Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo also set to return, the team will be even stronger going forward.

Sky Sports duo Gary Weaver and Iain Dowie have discovered a new injury that could be serious for Leeds United and Stuart Dallas.

Dallas started for Northern Ireland in their win over Luxembourg on Friday [March 25], but was dropped midway through the second half.

Weaver and Dowie then noticed that the defender was reporting a possible new groin injury to the medical staff.

Speaking live on Sky Sports covering the match [March 25, 2020:
54] Weaver shared what he found out on the sidelines.

“The paramedic who spoke to Stuart Dallas appeared to be experiencing groin pain,” he said.

Dowie responded to the footage and shared his hopes for any “serious” moves to come.

“I saw him chatting to Ian Baraclough, I hope it’s nothing serious.

Wow, you can’t be serious.

Just when we thought we had managed to send two players on international duty in Dallas and Dan James, we are still facing possible injuries.

If Dallas returns with a groin problem, we’ll have a real problem at left-back with Junior Firpo and Leo Hjelde also currently sidelined.

However, the utility player is known to be tough and we can’t imagine him being dropped if there is anything to be said about it against Southampton.

Hopefully Leeds can take Dallas back to West Yorkshire immediately for their assessment, with no real concerns behind Northern Ireland’s friendly with Hungary next week. We can’t lose Dallas.
