Michael Owen hailed Liverpool transfer target Kaoru Mitoma as an “incredible” player after playing for Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

The scores were level at the break when Roberto De Zerbi decided to introduce Kaoru Mitoma into the action, and inside a minute, he put Brighton into the lead.

The highly-sought after winger, who is a transfer target of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, would go on to add another goal to all but seal the points for his side.

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen was left pretty impressed by the 26-year-old and the impact he made off the bench, as he told Premier League Productions (24/09/23 at 4:20 pm)

The 26-year-old helped Brighton to Europe for the first time in their history last season and proved to be one of the club’s best players.

A Fantasy Football favourite, Kaoru Mitoma is only growing as a player and it won’t be too long before he is on the Champions League stage.

Incredible, incredible,” said Owen. “What an introduction that is from Mitoma. What a player that is. It’s a great little finish.

“He didn’t stop there because, this time, with his head just ghosting between two defenders and flicks it into the far corner. If you need someone to change the course of the game and you look back to your bench and see him, then you must be rubbing your hands together.

Brighton have proven time and time again, that if you want to buy their star players, then they are open to offers if the price is right.

Liverpool couldn’t get Moises Caicedo over the line this summer, as he opted to join Chelsea.

But it seems as though the Reds will target Kaoru Mitoma in 2024 and you could just see him thriving in Liverpool colours.

A player with drive, determination and a fearless nature on the ball. Someone like Jurgen Klopp would transform his game to even higher levels if he got to work with him
