Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark had a challenging night in their 78-74 loss to the Las Vegas Aces, especially during the first half. Despite this, she still managed to set a new WNBA single-season assist record, surpassing the mark previously held by Alyssa Thomas. Late in the fourth quarter she captivated the internet after an unreal behind-the-back pass to Aliyah Boston cutting the lead to two with just under 2:30 minutes remaining.
Her behind-the-back pass, executed during a crucial moment when the Fever needed a basket, was a testament to her playmaking prowess.
The Fever have struggled recently, losing three of their last four games. However, they have been showing promising form since returning from the Olympic break. Clark has won back-to-back Player of the Week honors and won the Player of the Month. The glaring favorite to win Rookie of the Year, and currently playing her best basketball of the season, Caitlin Clark holds the keys to the franchise and has the Fever franchise headed in the right trajectory.
