Having Georginio Rutter at Leeds United is almost like having a ‘cheat code’ in the Championship.

Hay was speaking on the latest episode of the Square Ball podcast, where he discussed the impact Rutter has had on Leeds so far this season.

Rutter recorded his third assist of the campaign against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night, with the ball neatly finding Crysencio Summerville, who finished well.

Each of his assists was of a very high standard for different reasons, while the two goals he scored were both excellent results.

Rutter has had a difficult start to life at Leeds after moving in January, but with regular game time in the position he loves, he is improving with each game.

Or say Rutter is ‘cheat code’ for Leeds
Previewing this weekend’s match against Bristol City, Hay believes Rutter is currently consistently superior to most other players on the pitch and is a ‘cheat code’ for Daniel Farke at this level.

He say:
“Yes, and it looks like he can play pretty much every position up front. He is good in wide areas and just seems to get the better of him, some of his passes are really sharp and difficult for defenders to read and process.Borussia Mönchengladbach sack head coach Daniel Farke | OneFootball

“It’s like a cheat code level, right?” I think you’ll have a few days off with him. You’re going to have days when things aren’t really working for him, but on days when things are going well, he’s going to look better and more skilled than anyone else on the field.

It’s hard to disagree with Hay’s views as defenses increasingly struggle to cope with his dribbling and passing.

Once he becomes a more consistent finisher in front of goal, it’s hard to find weaknesses in his game and so having someone like him in the league is a real advantage. Huge for Leeds.

At his current rate, Rutter is on track to reach double figures in goals and assists, this should be a very good season for him.
