WR transfer from Notre Dame James Braylon commits to TCU
Two wide receivers for TCU football, Cordale Russell and D.J. Allen, who were once four-star recruits, have announced their intentions to leave the team via the transfer portal this offseason. But, former Notre Dame wide receiver Braylon James committed to the TCU football team on social media on Monday afternoon, making him the Horned Frogs’ first addition through the transfer portal at the position. James, a former four-star prospect from the 2022 class, made four appearances and caught one pass for 12 yards in four games in 2023. The native of Round Rock, Texas, was Cam Cook’s high school teammate.
The 6-foot-2, 202-pound wide receiver will join a group of players that still has a lot of talent in it, even with the losses of seniors Warren Thompson and Jaylon Robinson in addition to Russell and Allen. Along with Dylan Wright and J.P. Richardson joining TCU, Savion Williams announced his plans to return for a fifth season. Two other wide receivers who are expected to return in 2024 are former LSU transfer Jack Bech and former Alabama transfer JoJo Earle.
