RB James Robinson is added to the practice squad by the New Orleans Saints.
Mickey Loomis, the executive vice president and general manager of the New Orleans Saints, announced today that running back James Robinson had been signed to the practice squad.
The Jacksonville Jaguars first signed 5-9, 219-pound Robinson in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State. Robinson has carried the ball 515 times for 2,264 yards (4.4 average) and 18 touchdowns in 40 career games with 32 starts for the Jaguars (2020–22), New York Jets (2022–2022), and Green Bay Packers (2023). He has also caught 92 passes for 615 yards (6.7 average) and four touchdowns.
The native of Rockford, Illinois, was selected as a PFWA All-Rookie in 2020 after starting each of his 14 games and rushing for 1,070 yards (4.5 average) and seven touchdowns on 240 carries. He also caught 49 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns. His stats for 2021 were as follows: he started 13 out of 14 games, ran 164 times for 767 yards (4.7 avg.) and eight touchdowns, and caught 31 passes for 222 yards. Robinson carried 110 times for 425 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games, five of which he started, for the Jaguars and Jets in 2022. He also caught 11 passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns, extending his career long run of 50 yards. After attending the New York Giants’ 2023 training camp, Robinson spent the most of the season on the practice squad of the Green Bay Packers, recording one carry for two yards and one pass reception for two yards.
