“Not convinced,” says The72 regarding Preston North End vs. Watford.

Preston North End is coming off a much-needed victory going into this weekend’s games. They ended a four-game losing streak in the Championship by defeating Huddersfield Town 3-1 on the road.

The Lilywhites are still only one point out of the play-offs in eighth place despite their recent poor play.

Watford, on the other hand, has made an amazing comeback in recent months and is now in the top six. Despite a slow start to the season, Valerien Ismael’s team has improved and is currently sitting in 12th place in the table, five points outside of the play-offs.

However, they were defeated the previous time out, losing to Ipswich Town, who were automatic candidates for promotion.

Here are some of our writers’ predictions for the match…

Although victory over a struggling Huddersfield isn’t particularly difficult right now, it might give Preston some much-needed confidence after some challenging performances recently.

“They just need to get another run going. They’re still in the play-off fight.” They should expect a difficult game against Watford, though.

“The Hornets have made significant progress, but they still struggle when playing away from home. Preston might be able to improve on their subpar home run with that, but I don’t think they have a good chance. Even though it might be close and a draw wouldn’t surprise me, I’ll pick Watford to win.

“Ryan Lowe, Preston’s manager, and the team had a significant victory last time out when they defeated Huddersfield Town away.

Their victory over the Terriers will give them confidence as they approach the play-offs.

Though they lost to Ipswich Town in their most recent game, Watford has been playing well lately, making them a difficult opponent for the Lilywhites.

“Deepdale will give the Hornets something, but I don’t think there will be much of a rivalry between the two teams.”
