Matt Eberflus is expected to return to the Bears in 2024, and many of them are cool with it.
A month ago, the results of these poll questions would have been very different, but the Chicago Bears have won five of their last nine games, and head coach Matt Eberflus’s fortunes are improving after the team started the season with a four-game losing streak.
Interestingly enough, 58% of our fans are cool with Eberflus returning for the 2024 season, despite 80% of us believing the Bears will do so.
While most of us speculated in November about what the Bears might look like if Ben Johnson, Jim Harbaugh, or Bobby Slowik were hired as Chicago’s next head coach, we are now either content with the status quo or firmly believe that Eberflus should continue leading the team.
Since he was hired last year, the players have consistently shown faith in him and his message. That conviction was put to the test early on, but he and his group didn’t waver and things have since improved.
The turnaround has been largely attributed to both his playcalling and leadership. The defense is performing like a top-ten team under his leadership, allowing explosive plays while forcing sacks and turnovers.
Bears brass may decide to make a move during the final four games, but as of right now, I believe he and his team have proven enough for the team to keep him around.
