Zack Martin, a Cowboys all-pro, updates after a terrifying injury.

The Cowboys’ trip to Buffalo ended in a 31-10 loss, which could have been much worse. It was about as bad as it could have gone. From the start of the Bills’ opening seven-minute touchdown drive, the Cowboys were virtually eliminated from the game. The only way things could have gotten worse was for Dallas to have a serious health setback, and with Zack Martin’s injury, for much of the game, it looked like that might be the case.

With 2:57 remaining in the first quarter, six-time All-Pro Martin took a hard hit to the knee area. Tim Settle, a defensive lineman for the Bills, was being blocked by Martin during the play, and defensive end Greg Rousseau crossed over to try to get to quarterback Dak Prescott. His knee struck Martin’s leg as he did. Martin left the game and hobbled into the blue medical tent. It didn’t seem good for Martin at the time, for sure.

Yes, but the news wasn’t all bad. While there was pain, it was more like a bad bruise on the thigh than a more serious injury to the knee.

After the game, Martin said, “I feel all right,” at his locker. “I was hit pretty hard in the quad there. I just kind of stopped playing the game because it wasn’t working for me.

You were not alone if, while watching the game in person, you worried that Martin might be out for a long time. Mike McCarthy, the coach, expressed his concerns. When the injury occurred, even Martin was fairly certain he had caused some sort of damage to his knee.

“Considering how my knee felt when it was struck, I wondered if there was something I could have done.” However, we returned and examined it, and fortunately, Martin said, “My knee felt good and was stable.” “It was kind of a fluke thing,”

Martin stated that as soon as he is able to return to the Cowboys’ practice facility, he will concentrate on getting himself healthy for Week 16. Though it was by no means the reason for the Cowboys’ difficulties, Martin’s injury was a step down from him to his backup, undrafted free agent T.J. Bass.
