Which Assistants Will Join Doug Pederson’s Staff in the Jaguars Coaching Tracker

In 2024, the Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping to add more personnel to join Doug Pederson’s staff. Following a dismal 9–8 season in which the Jaguars missed the playoffs, Pederson is seeking to replace 10 coaches, including the defensive coordinator, eight on defense and two on offense. In their quest for a new defensive coordinator, the Jaguars have been linked to the following coaches thus far.

Wink Martindale has spent the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. From 2012 to 2017, he served as the inside linebackers coach for the Baltimore Ravens, and from 2018 to 2021, he coordinated defense for the team.

Hewitt joined the Ravens in 2012, the year they won the Super Bowl under head coach Jim Harbaugh, and has been a member of the defensive line ever since. Before being elevated to the position of passing game coordinator in 2020, he coached their defensive backs for five years.

Marquand Manuel, a coordinator with deep ties to the Seattle Seahawks’ Cover 3 scheme, has been the team’s safeties coach for the past three seasons. Prior to that, he spent two seasons as Atlanta’s defensive coordinator and one year as the defensive backs coach in Philadelphia under Doug Pederson.

Shane Bowen, who has been Mike Vrabel’s right-hand man for years, has called plays for the Titans defense in 2020 but has been in charge of it since 2021.
