In order to make a comeback in 2024, the team will need to make changes in a few important areas, such as the wide receiver and running back positions. The Dallas Cowboys’ 2023 season got off to a strong start. For the third time in franchise history, they won 12 regular season games after winning 10 of their opening 13 games. Nevertheless, a loss to the Packers in the Wild Card Round brought disappointment to the end of the playoff run. This highlighted the need for improvements in a number of roles.
In the 2023–24 season, the Cowboys continued to play well. Notable highlights included the state of Dak Prescott’s health, Mike McCarthy’s offensive schemes, and the development of Dallas’ defense into one of the best in the league. Indeed, the team won the NFC East title and dominated at home. But the season ended suddenly at AT&T Stadium when the team lost to the Packers 48–32 in the Wild Card round. The Cowboys are expected to make the playoffs again the following season because their core players are signed long-term contracts. McCarthy, team president Jerry Jones, CEO Stephen Jones, and vice president of player personnel Will McClay must all put forth effort to improve or replenish the roster.
