Gallagher is reportedly Tottenham’s top target for a midfield position this winter. The Chelsea captain, though, would prefer to remain at Stamford Bridge if at all possible, and Tottenham would also need to come up with about £50 million to seal the deal.
Naturally, this means Tottenham must consider their other options. Additionally, it appears that Spurs are getting ready to make a bid after rumors last week indicated that Joao Gomes of Wolves was now a viable target.
hold a strong desire to acquire Gomes and are currently putting together a bid estimated to be worth approximately £30 million for the midfield player, according to Gavea News.
Considering that Wolves paid £16 million for Gomes, that would be a profit (per the same report).
Of course, Gomes is a regular for Gary O’Neil’s up and coming Wolves side and after selling players in the summer, there is no pressing need for the Molineux outfit to urgently cash in right now.
Spurs are attempting to sign a midfield player this month, but they are aware that it will be difficult to close a deal.
