With a 2-15 record, which was the worst record in the NFL this season, the Carolina Panthers are still picking up the pieces.

They gave up quarterback Bryce Young in exchange for the top pick in the previous draft, but as a result of that trade, they will not own the top pick in this one.

After firing Frank Reich in the middle of the season, they turned their focus to their coaching staff, hiring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their new head coach and releasing Chris Tabor, who served as both their special teams coordinator and interim head coach, on Friday.

Joe Person mentioned that Carolina had just denied Tabor an opportunity to speak with the New York Giants.

Since they haven’t qualified for the postseason since the 2017 season and their Super Bowl appearance at the end of the 2015 campaign now seems like a distant memory, the team has become a laughingstock.
