Zac Taylor, the head coach of the Bengals, is thinking of leaving Strange

The Cincinnati Bengals offense has been almost entirely dependent on talent over the last four seasons, as seven of the team’s eleven starters were selected in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. This offense has incredible talent, but over the past few seasons, under head coach Zac Taylor, the team has struggled in key situational areas. This has left the play calling on the field lacking. There might be significant changes to the offense in 2024 due to the departure of several key players, such as wide receivers Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins, and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.

The plan up until now has been that the offensive coaching staff, including Taylor, Callahan, quarterbacks coach turned offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher, and the rest of the offensive coaching staff, has an open communications channel during games and just throws out ideas like a bunch of college kids playing an online game of Madden. While that may be a successful strategy at making the staff feel validated, it has been horrible at getting this elite offense into a rhythm. Until now, one of the most distinctive aspects of the Cincinnati offense has been the democratic approach that Taylor brings to the play calling strategy.
