Bengals offensive lineman Dan Pitcher says Joe Burrow’s reality check persuaded him to stay.
Dan Pitcher has been promoted to the role of offensive coordinator by the Cincinnati Bengals, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, following Brian Callahan’s departure to the Tennessee Titans. Since 2020, when the Bengals selected quarterback Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the draft, Pitcher has served as the team’s quarterback coach.
Pitcher recently talked about how Burrow’s influence helped him decide that staying in Cincinnati was the best course of action.
Pitcher told Chris Roling of USA Today, “We have an elite quarterback here, so you hang on as long as you can. There are a lot of people in this profession that I respect who have great perspective who have reached out to me and almost to a person.” In addition to being a superb player, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know him personally. He is a unique individual. He is unique. It is difficult to place a value on having a guy who can win us a world championship and getting to work with him every day for the rest of your career.
