This week, ex-Auburn safety Donovan Kaufman committed to NC State, giving the team some veteran depth. Kaufman recently paid a visit to the campus. Kaufman has played for the Tigers for the past three seasons. He just finished the season with 37 tackles, 4.5 TFL, and one pass interception.

During his time at Auburn, Kaufman played in 32 games and recorded roughly 400 snaps in 2023. He gives the Wolfpack safety group—which may begin the fall without Devan Boykin due to his recovery from an ACL tear sustained during bowl practices in December—some much-needed depth and experience.

With multiple starters to replace in the secondary, the Pack has added four transfer players. Linebacker Cam Riley, Kaufman’s teammate at Auburn, is also being recruited by NC State.
