This season is no exception to Kirby Smart’s transformation of the Georgia football program into a veritable NFL factory. Georgia may select three offensive players in the first round of the 2024 draft, even though the elite defensive talent may not be available.
Following the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl, there has been a lot of activity in the draft world as scouts, coaches, and media draft experts finally had the chance to visit Mobile or Frisco to see most of the top prospects in person.
Out of the six players from Georgia who were selected for the Senior Bowl, two stood out above the rest. Ladd McConkey, a “sneaky athletic” wide receiver who drew obvious comparisons to Cooper Kupp, dominated practices all week long with his fluid route running. Tykee Smith was the defensive MVP of the game, mostly playing as a nickel cornerback and recording three pass breakups.
