During the last two offseasons, the Jaguars have discussed openly the possibility of Lawrence receiving an early contract extension; Etienne, on the other hand, is currently expected to become a free agent after 2024.

What would the cost be if the Jaguars decide to select Lawrence or Etienne’s fifth-year option by this year’s May 2nd deadline? The numbers are clear in an analysis of each selection by The 33rd Team: Lawrence would cost $21,978,000 in 2025, while Etienne would have a $5,955,000 cap hit.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have to choose between two fifth-year options this offseason: Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne. Jacksonville is among the few teams that must make this decision.

Lawrence made 370 passes. He is the only quarterback in franchise history to begin his career with three seasons of at least 300 completions, and he is the second quarterback in franchise history to record at least 300 completions in three straight seasons.
