Aston Villa “initiates talks” about a potential new “lightning” signing that Newcastle United and Chelsea want.

It has been reported that Aston Villa and Lille, a Ligue 1 team, have started preliminary talks regarding the possible summer transfer of striker Jonathan David.

The Canadian international hopes to realize a childhood dream of playing in the English top flight. He is being pursued by numerous Premier League clubs. With eight goals in 21 games this season, David’s progress has slowed slightly, but in the three seasons prior, he was outstanding.

Over the course of 112 Ligue 1 appearances in 2020–21, 2022–23, and 2022–23, David scored a total of 52 goals. His favorite competition this season has been the Coupe de France, where he has already recorded three goals and four assists in just three games.

The 24-year-old striker has long been admired by Villa, and there appears to have been some movement recently, according to reports. The Bees are especially excited because they anticipate losing their best player, forward Ivan Toney, during the summer transfer window. David, who is renowned for his quick reflexes and precise finishing, is rumored to have been personally chosen by Thomas Frank as the 27-year-old’s perfect replacement.
