Colby Parkinson was signed by the Rams to a three-year contract, expanding their tight end depth. Parkinson, 25, most recently was a member of the Seattle Seahawks, where he finished his career with 54 career regular season games (four starts) and 57 receptions for 618 yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-7, 251-pound Parkinson has links to the area in addition to his familiarity with the NFC West. He graduated from Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village.

The Rams’ tight end room was signed by Davis Allen, Hunter Long, Tyler Higbee, and Nikola Kalinic (future/reserve) before Parkinson was signed. However, Higbee is presently out due to surgery to address a knee injury he sustained against the Lions. Long’s 2023 season was cut short by injuries, as he only played in four games. Brycen Hopkins is also a forthcoming unrestricted free agent.

Parkinson, a native of Simi Valley, was first selected by the Seahawks (133rd overall) in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, out of Stanford.

Jonah Jackson, who inked a three-year contract on Thursday, is the newest player in the Rams offensive line room.

Fans should be aware of the following five facts about him:

1) Acquainted with both trench sides

Jackson spent most of his playing time at defensive tackle and left tackle, according to his Ohio State bio.

2) One of the best offensive lineman available in free agency on the interior

According to Trench Warfare magazine writer and offensive line/defensive line analyst Brandon Thorn, Jackson was his top choice for an offensive guard. ESPN’s Matt Bowen listed Jackson as his No. 11 overall free agent and No. 2 interior offensive lineman.
Jackson spent his first four years of college at Rutgers before completing his studies as a graduate transfer at Ohio State.

4) Pro Pass Protection

Jackson has only given up two sacks and 53 quarterback pressures in 928 pass-blocking snaps since 2022, according to Pro Football Focus.

5) A seamless changeover

According to Jackson’s analysis on Thursday, the Rams can apply some of the Lions’ fundamental run game elements to their own offence.
