Cam Newton wants to know who Kirk Cousins’ agent is because apparently they’re a magician.

The former New England Patriots quarterback reacted to the first major wave of free agency news on his YouTube show, “4th & 1,” including some strong words about Cousins getting a huge four-year, $180 million contract to join the Atlanta Falcons.

Newton said that it is “extremely alarming” seeing the deal knowing that Cousins only has one playoff win in his 12 years in the NFL. However, he’s not putting the blame all on Cousins in this instance

The cost of acquiring quarterback Kirk Cousins, who will play for the Atlanta Falcons this season, was high. NFL Media reports that Cousins and the Falcons have reached an agreement on a four-year, $180 million contract that includes a $50 million signing bonus.

Thirty-five-year-old Cousins recently recovered from an Achilles injury that ended his season in October. Although Cousins has had some successful seasons throughout his career, some may have doubted the agreement because of his advanced age and his most recent injury.
Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton is among many who have doubts, arguing that Cousins isn’t deserving of the $180 million contract he recently signed.

On the 4th&1 podcast, Newton stated, “It is extremely alarming that he only had one playoff win in 12 years… he’s coming off of an injury.” “It’s definitely alarming to see.”
With 39,471 yards, 270 touchdowns, 110 interceptions, and 19 rushing touchdowns in his career, Cousins has a 66.9 completion % thus far. Although only 1-3 in the postseason, his regular season record was 76-67-2.

Newton might be a touch resentful of the circumstances because he never received a contract as large as Cousins, especially not so late in his career. The 34-year-old thinks that Cousins’ lack of presence off the pitch is one of the things that draws teams to him. The four-time Pro Bowler, according to him, “gets a pass on a lot of stuff… because he’s not a big personality,” and has “benefited from a lot of things going right.”
He also hinted at an alternative that the Falcons overlooked. “I can’t make it about me, but if I were to make it about me … I’m in Atlanta,” Newton stated.

Despite leaving the NFL earlier than many other players, including Cousins, Newton stated he is not bothered by what other players receive.

“When I see this number indicating he has made $329 million in absolutely guaranteed money, should I get angry or frustrated? F— not. “Go grab that cash,” Newton commanded.

He continued by saying that Cousins shouldn’t be held accountable for every team loss because no player bears all responsibility for a team’s defeats.

From 2011 to 2021, Newton was an NFL player. He finished 75-68-1 with a 59.9 completion percentage, 32,382 yards, 194 passing touchdowns, 123 interceptions, 1,118 rushing attempts (an NFL record), and 5,628 rushing yards.

yards and an NFL record of 75 running yards. In the postseason, he finished 3–4, including an appearance and loss in the Super Bowl.

On his résumé, he has won three Pro Bowls, first team All-Pro, NFL MVP, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
