The offensive line coach for the Crimson Tide, Chris Kapilovic, is also in search of offensive tackles.

Naquil Betrand, a Texas A&M transfer, has promise, while Elijah Pritchett has some experience. In its recruiting class for 2023, Alabama signed a number of names as tackles. One of the cycle’s best lineman prospects was East Saint Louis, Illinois’s Miles McVay, a former four-star. Although he appeared spectacular in spring at 6-foot-5 and 350 pounds, the player only appeared in four games.

McVay is qualified to start as an offensive tackle.

He collaborates with Big Man Factory’s Andre Smith, a former star member of the Crimson Tide. Offensive linemen receive specialized training at Big Man Factory. Smith, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, was a five-star prospect when he signed with the University of Alabama in 2006. As a true freshman, he began his career at left tackle and developed into one of the greatest linemen in school history. Smith won the SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2007, the Outland Trophy in 2008, the Unanimous All-American award in

2008, and was selected to the first team of the SEC twice (in 2007 and 2008). In 2009, he became the first offensive lineman selected by Nick Saban in the first round of the NFL Draft while playing for Alabama. Smith carved quite a tremendous career after going to the Cincinnati Bengals as the sixth overall pick.

He is currently assisting McVay in developing his strength, power, agility, and footwork.
