Cordarrelle Patterson, a running back and return specialist, has signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to reports on Tuesday from NFL Network and ESPN. Following former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith, who is now Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator, Patterson will follow Smith to Pittsburgh after redefining himself as a running back for the previous three seasons in Atlanta.

Falcons News: Cordarrelle Patterson designated to return from IR
In 2013, Patterson joined the NFL as a wide receiver selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the draft. During the first eight years of his career with Minnesota (2013–16), Oakland (2017), New England (2018), and Chicago (2019–20), he was a four-time Pro Bowl player, four-time first-team All-Pro pick, and two-time second-team All-Pro as a returner.

Throughout his career, Patterson, 33, has returned nine kicks for touchdowns; however, he has only returned one in his last three seasons. In terms of kick return yardage, he led the league in both 2019 (825) and 2020 (1,017). In 2021, he had 16 appearances overall, starting 13 games as running back for Atlanta. He finished with a career-high 1,166 yards from scrimmage (618 rushing, 548 receiving). Patterson totaled 1,494 running yards, 708 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns in three seasons with the Falcons.

The Miami Dolphins boast the most potent offence in the league ever since Mike McDaniel and Tyreek Hill moved to South Beach.

Tua Tagovaiola has been at her best when Hill lines up opposite Jaylen Waddle, and they acquired another speedy and dominant playmaker in De’Von Achane last season.

The Dolphins are eager to add one more threat to the passing game going forward.

NFL insider Ari Meirov reports that they have formally approached Odell Beckahm Jr. with a contract offer.

This move makes great sense at first glance.

Even if OBJ isn’t the same player he once was, as their third wide receiver, he could still pose a serious threat and get plenty of wide-open looks, particularly in the mid zone of the field.
