In the summer of 2019, the 27-year-old signed a £55 million permanent contract to join the North London club from Real Betis, but things haven’t gone as planned. This season has seen Lo Celso’s failure to establish himself as a regular at Tottenham continue.
Prior to the current season, Ange Postecoglou was pleased to retain the Argentine. The Australian coach has utilised the midfield player in 16 games, but only six of those appearances have come from starts. Even if Lo Celso’s season has been hampered by injuries, the Argentina international would not have been a sure starter. Lo Celso wants to leave Tottenham at the end of the season in order to get more playing time, and Spurs are reportedly open to a sale, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that Tottenham is eager to cash in on Lo Celso this summer since his transfer fee would go towards paying for new players. The 27-year-old’s contract with North London expires in2025, thus a sale at the end of the current campaign would be perfect for the Premier League team. 

Ange Postecoglou was happy to keep the Argentine before the current season began.
