Marc Guehi and Jefferson Lerma were ruled out after injuries sustained on international duty

ONE.
oy Hodgson has confirmed a brace for Crystal Palace.

Jefferson Lerma and Marc Guehi are both ruled out of Saturday’s match against Aston Villa after problems on international duty.

The head of the Palace stated:
“[Lerma] was tested this morning so I can’t give details, but it’s related to his hamstring. I don’t know how serious it is.

He played 90 minutes twice and went first to Colombia, then to Chile and finally England. He didn’t return until quite late Thursday morning. He went straight to the training ground here to see the medical staff and reported that he felt a slight hamstring problem. Today he went to the doctor.

“I expect it will also be a result of double the 90 minutes and the travel involved, and that’s the risk you take when you decide you want a South American international in your team. me.

We do the same thing with African players. We want them on our team and we love them as players. We have to accept that when they travel to compete, their travel time and travel problems are much worse than Europeans.

As recently reported, c was also absent from the match at Villa Park after suffering a hip injury while in England.

Rob Holding could therefore make his Crystal Palace debut in defence, with Chris Richards competing to start and James Tomkins unavailable.

Hodgson revealed:
“He is at risk of missing the match. “It was an issue that we thought could be easily resolved or not cause too much concern, but unfortunately the match came too early. If we had ten days, or even four or five days, we might have regained our form, but I’m afraid his training today wasn’Roy Hodgson to remain as Crystal Palace manager - Vanguard Newst enough.

“It’s a pretty small thing. It’s just that the injury from the collision made him a bit sour, which meant he couldn’t play in this match. That’s not what happened because he trained and played two matches for England. That’s because in the match against Scotland he took a knock on his hip and that unfortunately aggravated the small problem he has every week.

There is currently no official timetable for Michael Olise’s return from a “very serious” hamstring injury, while Matheus Franca is still a few weeks away from training.
