Crystal Palace face an anxious wait to find out the extent of Dean Henderson’s thigh injury in their 3-0 EFL Cup third round defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old, left, was sent off in the 19th minute of his Eagles debut after falling after kicking the ball at Old Trafford.

Henderson has been waiting for the opportunity to make an impact for the south London side after joining the Red Devils in the summer transfer window for a fee of up to £20 million.
