Daniel Farke says he has worked hard this week to ensure his Leeds United side do not become complacent.

Farke was speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Southampton, where he was asked about the Whites’ morale after some good recent form.

Leeds played three games in six days in the first week after the international break, picking up seven points in that period against Millwall, Hull City and Watford.

Farke’s side have also kept four clean sheets in a row in the Championship, with Leeds really starting to pick up the pace under the 46-year-old’s guidance.

However, Leeds will return to action this weekend and will face Southampton, who are desperate to end their four-match losing streak.

Speaking before the trip to St. Mary’s, Farke said he and the coaching staff have worked hard to ensure each player’s focus remains as sharp as possible.

He say:
“It’s always good for mood and confidence after a good win. It only affects the first day, because after that you’ll come back to it. It’s about winning the next practice match or being the best shooter or the next match. If someone is not focused, we as coaches need to make sure everyone knows. We need to make sure we get into it and not have too much fun.

Things are starting to look extremely promising under Farke, but it’s important to remember that Leeds are still eight points off the top two and how long the season lasts.

Southampton may be struggling, but they still have plenty of top players for this competition and so it’s good to hear that Farke has been quick to ensure that Leeds remain fully focused.
