After the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Minnesota Vikings, Tee Higgins’s Catch of the Year helped put the team in contention for the postseason.
The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Minnesota Vikings 27–24 in overtime, a game that required the efforts of every player, coach, and fan to win. Jake Browning put up yet another outstanding performance for the Bengals, going 28-42 for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. But with 0:39 remaining in regulation, wide receiver Tee Higgins made the play of the year, taking the game to a new level with a 21-yard touchdown reception.
Higgins’s second touchdown of the game came at the perfect moment to maintain Cincinnati’s hopes of making the playoffs. In the event that Bengals All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is unable to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16, Higgins will need to maintain his position as the team’s top threat for an additional week. Chase left the game due to an AC joint sprain.
Higgins is one of the NFL’s top receivers and a player who the Bengals have always trusted to carry the team when necessary. Higgins’s ability to jump ball and high-point the ball against defenders is one of his best traits. This was made clear by the play that prolonged the match and featured Higgins’s greatest catch to date.
