Tee Higgins still views the Bengals as his top choice as he approaches free agency.

Tee Higgins, a wide receiver for the Bengals, hopes to stay in Cincinnati even though he has played out his rookie contract and will be free to sign elsewhere in March.

According to Higgins, J’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow have both expressed their belief that the front office should take all necessary steps to get him back, and he wants to stay a Bengal because of his bond with his coaches and teammates.

“It means a lot,” Higgins told BleacherReport.com. “They’re telling me to come back, man, because it’s family.” We have been performing together for the past three or four years, and I would really enjoy performing with those guys once more. Although it’s not in my control yet, Cincinnati is currently the best option when the time comes.

Burrow should remain in Cincinnati for many years to come as he is committed to a long-term contract. In one year, Chase will become a free agent, and there has been discussion that the Bengals may not be able to retain Higgins if they have to use their salary cap space to retain Chase. If Higgins wants to stay, he might have to offer the Bengals a hometown discount.
