Wide receiver Willie Snead IV of the San Francisco 49ers calls Tua Tagovailoa Calm Following Dolphins Playoff Setback
After the Miami Dolphins’ 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card Round on Saturday night in chilly Kansas City, a lot of people are laughing at the team. Currently playing NFL players are now participating in the clowning.
It’s not even a very good player, though. Wide receiver Willie Snead IV of the San Francisco 49ers practice squad felt the need to disparage Tua Tagovailoa instead.
Undoubtedly, Tua Tagovailoa performed admirably on Saturday night in Kansas City despite the adverse weather conditions. With the temperature at kick coming in at around -4 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind chill upwards of 20 degrees colder, the Hawaiian-raised Tagovailoa seemed well out of his element.
Tua completed just 199 yards on 20/39 passing, with one touchdown and one interception. Not an exceptional throw by the quarterback, but an amazing adjustment on a deep ball led to his 53-yard hookup with Tyreek Hill for the team’s lone points of the game. For Tagovailoa, it was just a very bad day.
But what basis does a guy have to defend his criticism of other NFL players for being soft when he can’t even get on an active roster? Since 2021 (2), Taylor Swift has put out three more albums than Willie Snead has catches. Meanwhile, Tagovailoa just led the NFL in passing yards and made the Pro Bowl.
Next week, the 49ers will take on an opponent to be determined in the NFL Divisional Round. Since he is unable to make the active roster, Willie Snead IV most likely won’t play.
