Without the 49ers taking on the Packers, the NFC playoff season wouldn’t be complete. Nobody will be dissatisfied with this classic matchup. These two teams always draw a sizable crowd when they play. The fact that the 49ers are the top seed and the Packers are the seventh won’t matter one bit. But the 49ers are under tremendous pressure to beat the Packers in the divisional playoff round because of their seeding.
There is no way that the 49ers can lose this game. With a week off, they have gained much-needed rest and will have more time to get ready for the Packers. On a brief road trip this week, the Packers must play the 49ers. The 49ers are a 10-point betting favorite in this game in part because of this. Above all, though, the 49ers are a lot superior to the Packers. They are stacked with All-Pro and Pro Bowl players and have the superior coach. The Packers are a different story.The entire year has been amazing in San Francisco. Never before has winning the Super Bowl seemed so probable as it does now. Since the 49ers have improved as a team, not even the 2019 season can be compared to this one. This team is under constant pressure as a result. Whereas the Packers weren’t even predicted to make the playoffs, much less advance this far, they are expected to take care of business.
