Sophomore guard Skyy Clark, who took a hard fall in the second half of the Cardinals’ game against Georgia Tech this past Saturday, confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, that he sustained a broken rib. This marks the second consecutive game that a member of the Louisville men’s basketball program will miss an extended period of time due to injury.
UofL has already lost three players to injury this season; Clark’s injury is just the most recent in a long list of serious illnesses the Cardinals have faced this year. Hercy Miller required surgery for a persistent hip injury, J.J. Traynor reinjured his shoulder, and Dennis Evans was not medically cleared to compete.
Although the duration of his absence is unknown, he stated on social media that he would “be back soon.” Clark wrote on X, “Broke rib… no sweat… no complaints!!!” “I still completed it for my guys. Not sure how to breathe and it hurt so bad, but I’ll be back soon, #cardnation.#UofL
