The Alabama softball team continues its week on the road, taking on the Georgia Bulldogs after taking down No. 16 Florida State on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Last weekend, the Crimson Tide took one game in a three-game series with No. 13 Florida at home. Abby Duchscherer leads the way for the Crimson Tide offense. She’s got five home runs, including a two-run shot in the 4-1 victory over the Seminoles. She’s also knocked in 23 runs and has 25 hits for a .373 average. Kayla Beaver has been red hot in the circle. She is 8-1 with three saves over 13 appearances this season, including six complete games and three solo shutouts while striking out 74 batters over 65.2 innings pitched. This is Georgia’s first SEC series of the season. The Bulldogs are 21-3. Alabama (21-3, 1-2 SEC) has a break in league play after this weekend. Alabama hosts Samford, UAB and Virginia Tech next week.
