On Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday will face Ipswich Town in the Championship at Hillsborough.

After losing their first four league games, Wednesday earned their first point of the season with a 0-0 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road just before the international break.

Leeds had numerous chances to win the game, with Joel Piroe shooting wide and Devis Vasquez saving Georginio Rutter, and Wilfried Gnonto being denied a penalty after being pulled down in the box by Dominic Iorfa.

The Owls had chances, with Josh Windass and Callum Paterson going close, but both teams had to settle for a point.

Wednesday are 23rd in the table, and despite being promoted from League One with Ipswich last season, their fortunes could not be more disparate.

The Tractor Boys’ fantastic start to the season continued after they completed a stunning comeback to defeat Cardiff City 3-2 at Portman Road the previous time out.

The Bluebirds appeared to be in control of the game as goals from Aaron Ramsey and Joe Ralls either side of halftime gave them a two-goal lead, but Ipswich equalised in the 59th minute through Nathan Broadhead.

In the 68th minute, Freddie Lapado equalised from close range for the hosts, and the replacement added his second 10 minutes later to secure all three points for Kieran McKenna’s side.

Ipswich Town are presently second in the table, one point behind Preston North End.

What are the most recent Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town team updates?
Midfielders Jeff Hendrick and John Buckley, on loan from Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers, might make their debuts on Wednesday.

The Owls have an almost fully healthy team to select from, which might be bolstered by the return of winger Mallik Wilks, who was pictured back in training over the international break, but midfielder Momo Diaby is still out with a foot injury.

Ipswich are concerned about winger Wes Burns’ fitness after he withdrew from the Wales camp owing to a hamstring problem.

Burns played the final 30 minutes of Wales’ 0-0 draw with South Korea last Thursday, but Wales manager Rob Page stated that he was sent home as a precaution.

The Tractor Boys will be without goalkeeper Christian Walton as he recovers from a foot injury, but defender Axel Tuanzebe, who moved to Portman Road last week, might make his debut.

What was David Prutton’s prediction?
Prutton, a Sky Sports presenter, feels the Tractor Boys’ tough start to the season will continue against Ipswich, forecasting a 2-0 win for the Tractor Boys.

It was a much improved performance from Wednesday, when they picked up a fantastic point at Leeds before the international break, and if they can sustain that level of performance, they may be able to earn their first win of the season this weekend.

However, it will be an extremely difficult test against a Tractor Boys side that has smoothly adapted to the Championship, and while the likely absence of Burns would be a blow, McKenna still has plenty of dangerous attacking alternatives at his disposal.

It may be a closer game than many anticipate, but it is impossible to argue with Prutton that Ipswich will take all three points.
